As a proud alumna of St.
James School,
there was no question where I wanted to send my children. I wanted them to have the same high
quality academic and spiritual foundation that I was privileged to
experience. It’s an even greater
blessing that my kids are getting this foundation from a faculty and
staff that is second to none.

St. James has always been
one of the best schools in the diocese.
When a parent sends their child to SJS they can be sure he or she
will receive a top notch religious education. As former graduates, there was never
any doubt in my or my wife’s mind where our two boys would attend grade
school. As you walk the halls of
the school you will see words posted like “respect”, “integrity” and
“team spirit”. These are qualities
one can expect to be displayed and taught while at St. James. Couple all this with an excellent
athletic program, it is easy to see that St. James does not just develop
fine students, but fine young men and women as well. I would recommend St. James to anyone
looking for a good Catholic education.

When I graduated from St.
James, I enrolled at Mercyhurst
Preparatory School where I
was immediately placed in honors classes and I quickly learned that I was
fully prepared for my new workload.
St. James gave me many skills from public speaking to mathematics
to writing and I was well aware that St. James gave me an academic edge
in a very competitive high school.
Other aspects that St. James instilled in me were manners, respect
and Catholic values; teachers at Mercyhurst
have told me that they can always tell who the St. James kids are. We are polite, well behaved and never
hesitate to lend a helping hand, because that is what we were taught at
St. James. As I am about to move
onto college, the education, morals and memories that I received at St.
James will hold a special place in my heart and as the school song goes,
to St. James, “true and loyal I will ever be!”

St.
James School
is superb!! It has the highest
quality of education and the widest variety of activities that foster
self-esteem, teamwork, and confidence I have ever known. (And I have taught in several public
schools.) Ten of my grandchildren
attend St. James and have been encouraged to develop their talents,
whether in athletics, public speaking, music, poetry, or science. The children also become well-grounded
in their faith. They learn to
appreciate the Mass, the Sacraments, and our rich Cahtolic
traditions. It’s a terrific
school!
